Are you Prepared for an Emergency???

This is our life...Fire Safety. Matthew has all three of his firefighter jackets hung on his door at all times. I have tried to tell him that he only need one at a time, but he says he needs to be prepared in case the firefighters come over and need an outfit. In the event of an emergency 3 firefighters will be set! He even has a light on his helmet for entering dark buildings and cones to place outside of the fire. He is desperately looking for an air pack to wear on his back and until then he will not be satisfied that he is a real firefighter!

A month ago, Grandpa was taken to the hospital in an ambulance when he was at our house. When Grandpa was safely taken out of the house (Thankfully, he is just fine now!) Matthew came upstairs and asked one of the firemen if he could tour the fire truck. I had to tell him that they were working and we would go to the fire station soon...

Don't Faint...I am back!

OK, so I am back! Don't faint! After much prodding from friends and family I have started back up on this blog thing. You have to know, that I grew up without a computer and I am pretty incompetent! I have now logged on over two hours just trying to find the pictures I want, compress the pictures, add them to the blog and I have to so that I didn't get the exact pictures I wanted but this is going to have to do for now. (I took 150 picture of the kids in their Halloween costumes! On small thumbnails they all look pretty good. It isn't until I put them on the blog that I realized it was probably a little different picture. Only Miss Anal (Me) would notice.)
Matthew is in love with Firefighters now. He has 3 costumes now and has to have each them hanging up on his door with his helmets and his pants tucked into his boots like real firefighters do! He is really funny. He says Fire fighter like this: Pronounced: far-farter (say is very fast in a low voice). Our days are filled with him talking about far-farter helmets, far-farter pick axes, far-farter pike poles, far-farter air packs---you get the point!!!

Allie was a total poser this day, after all, she is going to be a movie star one day. She had the Snow White thing down. The make-up for this photo shoot took an hour per girl. Matthew didn't take long as he lives in his Fire Fighter costume!!!

Here are a few of my favorite photos of Emily. She told me that this year she didn't want to be a princess. I had her try on an Incredibles costume and she said, "This is so hideous, I would rather be a princess!" I want pretty, cute costumes so we agreed on a pretty witch. It was a costume from the Disney Store (actually a fairy minus the wings.) Doesn't Emily look old?

Senior Photo Time

Here are some photos from our "Senior Picture" photo shoot. Each time we get together with cousins Jan and I make the kids do a photo shoot that we have called our "Senior Picture" photo shoot. The kids now have to be bribed to do the photo shoot, but in the end we are happy that we made them pose. This year we bribed the kids with a craft that I will upload later. They came out cute. By the time the kids are true Seniors they will have their smiles down!!! Poor kids...at least they will have a topic for counseling. (Emily was reading over my shoulder and said, "Atleast one of us got out of the photo shoot." The truth is, Emily's picture was taken before Jan got to my house. On the day of "Senior Photos" Emily took a header into the gravel under our playset. She ended up with road rash on her cheek, chin and her tooth cutting the inside of her lip. Needless to say, she got out of pictures that day. I have to say though, that she is looking pretty good now so I think I will make her reshoot the "Senior Photos". Emily's response after reading over my shoulder again, "WHAT, my jaw still hurts to smile. Mom, but it does!")

H

We went to visit grandma and grandpa and had a photo shoot of all of the grandkids. The kids did pretty good considering.
Well, I thought I could update this blog, but I am having trouble getting my pictures compressed for this blog! Rob just ordered me the Canon A640 10 MG camera so when I get the digital camera this blog thing will be much easier. Yes, you read it right, I am not digital yet, so after I first develop my pictures, then I scan them, then compress I am tired! I will try again tomorrow.

I am Back...

Ok, so I am about as bad at updating my blog as I am dieting! I start off great, do it all right, then I get distracted and quit...I will try to be better!

Allie Poses Like the Star She Is...

Today I got Allie's dance picture from 1,2,3 Dance Boutique.

She did a great job at her end of the year dance recital. She did Tap, Jazz and Dance Team last year for Sears Academy of Dance. Allie is quite a performer. Her facial expressions are great to watch! Hopefully she will dance next year too.

Yes, We are Circus Geeks

Calam Shriners Circus Comes to Moscow

I am a sucker for a circus. We go every year with the kids and they love it! This year my friend Claudia from church sent me 4 free kid tickets. Thanks Claudia! The kids had a great time and invited their good friends Raigan and Addie.
They had a blast riding on the elephant. Matthew didn't think he wanted to ride until the ride was closed. Then he decided that it might be fun. Next year he will also get a ride.
Here the four kids pose for a picture. They are all really excited to be at the circus. It is Raigan and Addie's first time.
In the end, the best part of the circus for Matthew was the $3 ice!

Book All About Me

I have been scrapbooking for 10 years and have never done a book about me. Tami Vik saw a class on line by Nichol . We got the papers and I made my book with some alterations. I absolutely love the papers! Here it is: I have of course included pictures of my 4 favorite people as well...

Desperately Seeking Sleep...

June 2007: Matthew Asleep in Mom and Dad's Bed with "Doggie" and "Other Doggie"...
Speaking of Sleeping...We are sleep deprived in the Rembert household and are desperately trying to get Matthew to sleep through the night in his bed. He goes to bed in his own bed and then ends up in ours between 12 and 2. Either Rob or I end up moving to his bed (which by the way, is not comfortable!)

So, we set up an incentive plan for Matthew. If he slept in his bed for 3 nights he got a dollar store toy, then when he slept in this bed for 3 more nights he got a big wheel bike, then when he slept in his bed one more night, he got a 12" bike with training wheels. Do you see the pattern? $1 toy, $5 big wheel (Can you believe it? I got it clearanced over a year ago at Shopko!), $30 big boy bike! So by the time he had slept in his bed 7 nights, the next 2 nights he got up and went back to our bed. He decided he didn't want anything else... You may ask, "What did you learn?"
1. I learned that I can't buy sleep,
2. Matthew doesn't respond to rewards,
3. Matthew has is parents right where he wants them!!!

Any suggestions???

School is OUT!!!

Playing at Pullman Aquatic Center!

End of School "Late Over"
We had an end of the school year party for the girls. Emily invited Diana, Gabrielle, and Monica. We had a "Late Over" Party for the kids. (That is mom's idea of having a party without the sleepover component. I just hate sleepovers! The kids don't sleep and then the next day the whole family is tired and grumpy.) The party went from 12:00p.m. to 10:30 pm. We started the party with lunch of macaroni and cheese, chips and special Shirley Temple drinks with little umbrellas. Next, Emily and Allie made up a treasure hunt for the girls. The hunt took the kids all over the house until they ended up in the garage in a wheel barrow FULL of candy. The girls had a blast sorting and eating and sorting and eating the candy! Then we headed to the Pullman Aquatic Center where the kids splashed and played. After the kids were tired from swimming, I went to Little Caesar's for pizza and bread sticks. Next, we went to Cougar Country for ice cream sundaes... When the kids finished eating the ice cream, they headed downstairs to watch movies, eat popcorn and more candy... At 10:30pm I dropped the kids back off at their prospective home with tummy aches, sugar highs, and tons of energy! (Now do you know why I don't enjoy sleepovers???) It was a great time, and at 11:00 pm the family was fast asleep in bed!

Allie's picture is chosen for school mural.

We just found out the last week of school that Allie's picture of the rainforest tree was chosen to be painted in the school mural. It is in the main hall on your way to the 2nd-5th grade classrooms. Allie was VERY excited!

At Sunnyside Park with cousin Ethan

Aunt Jamie, Ethan, and Eli came to visit last week. Here are some photos from Sunnyside Park:

Classic picture of the boys playing with sticks. Boys...
Climbing up the "Big" slide with Allie.
It was a nice day, not too hot, not too cold. Made for some cute shots.
